How do I get involved in the PTA?
become a member, just download the membership form, or get one from the school office, or from PTA President Joshua Room (705-1250) and fill it out. Then turn the completed form in to your child's teacher along with the PTA dues of $5, or bring it to the next PTA meeting. You can also pay dues online via the button below.
The general membership consists of parents, guardians, and teachers.
Dues for the school year are $5, with no one turned away for
lack of funds. Please make a larger contribution for dues if you can--all funds are used to support our school. Also, there are many volunteer opportunities throughout the school year to lend a helping hand.
If you pay online, please consider paying an extra $1 (for a total of $6) to cover the online transaction fees. Please make a larger contribution for dues if you can--all funds are used to support our school.
How does the PTA raise money for our school?
The PTA puts on a number of fundraisers during the academic year. We do both one-time (such as the Raffle and Walk-a-Thon) and ongoing (such as Berkeley Bowl scrip) fundraisers. In 2012-2013, the MX Community raised $106,000 through the PTA from contributions both large and small. In comparison, we raised $108,000 in 2011-2012 and $90,000 in 2010-2011. All of that money went directly towards supporting our school (see the next section for details).
